The impact of the three-day long weekend, which began with Gandhi Jayanti, is also becoming evident in Haridwar. On Friday, an increase in the number of vehicles around Chandi Ghat and nearby roads led to noticeable traffic pressure.

Due to the increased movement of vehicles on the road leading to Chandi Ghat, traffic was seen moving slowly in several places. Local videos that surfaced on social media also showed a significant crowd of vehicles in the area. Additionally, due to repair work starting on the old Chandi Bridge, traffic has been diverted to the new Chandi Bridge. Currently, traffic from both directions is being managed through this bridge.

With the long weekend, the number of tourists and devotees coming to Haridwar is expected to increase, which may continue to put pressure on major roads over the next two days.
