About Us

Haridwar News is a Hindi digital brand for Haridwar — for the people who live here and for everyone who belongs to the city: pilgrims, travellers, students, the diaspora. News, faith, travel and the snan-parv calendar, verified and in one place.

Who We Are For

Haridwar is a district of 20 lakh people — and a city that belongs to crores more. Every year lakhs of pilgrims come for the Ganga, the aarti at Har Ki Pauri, Kanwar Yatra and the snan parv; families abroad follow the city they left; travellers plan a first visit; students come to Roorkee. Haridwar News is built for all of them at once: local news for residents, and faith, travel and festival coverage for everyone who loves Haridwar.

We are a content-first publication. We do not live-stream. Our reporting, guides and the festival calendar live on this website; our photos, reels and day-to-day updates reach readers first on Facebook and Instagram, which are our main distribution channels.

What We Do

Haridwar News is a Hindi digital news platform for Haridwar district, Uttarakhand — from Har Ki Pauri, Kankhal, Jwalapur and the ashram belt of Bhupatwala and Saptrishi to Roorkee, Piran Kaliyar, Manglaur, Bhagwanpur, Laksar and the villages. We cover the stories that matter to residents and to the lakhs of pilgrims who come for the Ganga: administration and civic services, the ghats and the Ganga, Kumbh, Kanwar Yatra and the snan parv, traffic and route plans, SIDCUL and BHEL, schools and hospitals, recruitment and local politics.

Our Editorial Method — the 2+1 Rule

A story picked up from elsewhere is not published unless it is backed by two independent sources and carries one contribution of our own — background, a figure, local context or our own reporting. The condition does not apply to primary sources, ground reports and data stories, because those are original to begin with.

Corrections Policy

When we get something wrong, we do not edit it away quietly. The correction is recorded publicly beneath the story, with the date. If you spot an error in a story, write to us.

Image Sourcing

The source of every image is recorded. We do not publish photographs belonging to newspapers or news agencies — only our own, our stringers’, government, licensed or AI-generated images (clearly labelled).
